Casole d'Elsa is a little village upon a hill, situated in the south-west part of the Val d'Elsa.
It is amazing to see the contrast between the installation of the present-day art and the Sienese "cassero", where you still can see the black and white "balzana" of the Republic, a 13th century small fort that nowadays is become the Town Hall.
The keen on art cannot forget the Collegiata. You will find a part of a painting that represents the Last Judgment of a painter of the Duccio’s school and you could see above all the cenotaph of Messer Porrina, 13th century masterpiece of Marco Romano. In the Collegiata there is also a remarkable work of Della Robbia. In the museum you could see also important finds.
Do not forget the Live Art Museum and the Gallery of '900.
